Commercial VCD Players that Play CD-R???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I've been looking at getting a standalone VCD player (avoid hassle on getting DVD player to work properly with homemade CD-R) and wonder which (if any) of them will play CD-R properly?? I've seen the Panasonic portables and AIWA desktop.. any comments?

Pioneer DV-525 or Phillips DVD-825 They can play DVD/VCD/CD and CD/VCD on CD-R/CD-RW

I've got the Technics SL-VM500 5 disc changer and love it. Check it out at Panwebi.com for $150. But personally, I'd recommend the Pioneer 414 or 525 DVD players. They are the only current model with dual pickups AND Pal/NTSC conversion. (Phillips dv825 claims to, but does not convert PAL formatted VCD's to NTSC output). The pioneers are in the $280 price range, and their website offers a $50 rebate through new years. :) Hope this helps!
