greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

Someone told me that trucks are Sport Utility Vehicles are exempt from I695 and we will have to keep paying the same amount. Is this legitimate?

poorly written legislation. if you look it goes as far as listing a number of autos that would fall under this category, and trucks are left out. Even hick towns who list things in their zoning have a clause that includes things that may have been left out accidentally, but not i695. luckily for you, everyone I have spoken to have concurred that trucks will be included in the $30 umbrella because spirit and intent of the law is not fully tested in courts.

There is, however, still a license fee for "motor trucks" based upon gross weight.

Sorry about that da man.. we thinking backers of 695 have to associate with this troll as the board is anonymous. Don't let his heckling though stop you from participating in the discussion.

"Don't let his heckling though stop you from participating in the discussion. " Not heckling, merely stating fact. And whining isn't "participating in the discussion," it's merely whining!
