Is is legal to reproduce articles in their entirety found on AP/UPI and other news sources on this forum?

Quite often I find interesting Y2K articles that I would like to add to this forum. I am unsure of the legality of reproducing these articles (cut and paste) here on the forum. Suggestions please...that don't involve making a link...I'm hopeless at links.

It's been debated many times.

Based on research of the copyright office "rules," suggest you post only one copy under the "Fair Use" copyright clause. Include a note such as...

[Fair Use: For Educational/Research Purposes Only]

And please provide the correct URL links (either "hot" or not) and give credit where credit is due.

Some author's, like Peter DeJager, take exception to this approach. When contacted, the TBY2K Sysops will honor the request of the copyright holder.

BTW, this is a research forum, hosted at an educational institution... MIT. "Different" characteristics than most net forums.
