SYSOPS: Is the forum fixed? : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

OK fellow beta testers, it seems that the ghost post bug has been fixed! I just answered a few threads, and it showed up, after less than a minute, and stayed!

Anybody still see a problem? <:)=

Tee he he, ghost, that's short for Greenspun Host.

Testing... testing... 1 2 3... <:)=

Nope - posted a reply on a thread below. It was around for 2-3 hours. Now it's gone...

That would be an emphatic NO.

Sorry for yelling

Doubt it Sysman.

Sysops delete *a few threads* if way out of line (pretty long line here) or really nasty posts. That said, the system's still "squirrelly."

The last message I had from Phil Greenspun said...

"Have you figured out a reproducible test case? I definitely wouldn't vouch for all the caching code..." -- Philip

So... how do you test for a disappearing/reappearing post? Or even know how to flag Phil on it?

Hummmmmmmmm, it still looks like it's working better to me.

I've been playing with my preferences in Netscape, and I have "cache compare" (under Advanced - Cache) set to EVERY TIME. I'll play with that stuff some more to see if it seems to make a difference, and report back.

Just an idea, must be the debugger in me...

Tick... Tock... <:00=
