OT anyone having problems with the net today??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I've been having problems since 1am this morning and just got this from my ISP

InternetCDS is under a hacker attack known as Smurf, and it is currently wreaking havoc with our routing to our other carriers. InternetCDS maintains direct connectivity with Sprint, AT&T, UUNET, GTE and ELI, and they all are getting hit. We are working with the carriers to identify the source of the attack, and will update you as we have more information. Connectivity will be sporadic until the site causing the problem is identified. My apologies for the outage, we are working diligently to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience. anyone else?

Stash,

That's my ISP too. And I, like you, have had MAJOR problems. I sure hope they got it fixed! I have AOL as a back-up, which I was forced to use. Using AOL is pricey cause I have to pay 6 cents per minute for phone access plus the regular AOL monthly fee. I got the cheapest AOL monthly rate, and only use it for "emergencies". I do some stock trading on the net and can't be totally dependent on only one ISP.
