"60 Minutes" Question with Regard to Tomorrow's Broadcast

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Yesterday on CBS in the evening, I watched a brief promo that featured Steve Kroft asking someone--and I don't have a clue to his identity because the promo caught me off guard and I didn't have a chance to take names--a question akin to:

Kroft: "So, you're saying (with regard to Y2k) you don't know what's going to happen?"

and the reply was something akin to:

Geek: "Absolutely."

Today, on the CBS Website, I tried to verify the fact that tomorrow's broadcast would contain a Y2k segment, and there was no indication that it would.

There was on that site, however, a "heads up" on an interview that is apparently scheduled to run tomorrow--which is big news in my neck of the woods--with a child/murder defendant/client of local attorney Jeffrey Feiger.

I'm thinking that the line-up of stories may have been changed at the last minute, since the story of the kid charged with murder is evolving by the day. In an effort to clarify, I called "60 minutes" and got the regular weekend voice mail, versus a human. I can make some further calls, but I'm wondering if anyone here saw that same promo.

Bottom line: Has anything led you to believe "60 Minutes" and Kroft will air another Y2k segment tomorrow?

Thanks!

Heard they were going to air another one before Rollover

Lately "60 Minutes" has been post-poned repeatedly by bleeping sports programs (which should be shown on cable instead). We can't predict when it's going to start & end up missing whole chunks of it. This is vile, even if the shows are re-runs. Why does the network tolerate it?

Also, in case anyone's been in a coma lately -- tomorrow is the season opener of "X Files." Let's hope it starts on time.

I saw the same promo. But I had the impression that Steve Kroft will be doing a Y2K thing on Dan Rather's newscast next week. I did not know the interviewee either.

I believe it is going to be on CBS evening news monday night, not on 60 minutes. Anyone in Dallas watch KDTV in Denton (PBS)for McQuiston show Sunday at 1 pm and 11 pm. Good discussion on y2k.
