Heads Up: Koskinen to release the Government's Final Y2K Report November 10.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I read this in the Federalist Brief 99-44, November 5, 1999.

"John Koskinen, the Chairman Mr. Clinton's Council on the Year 2000 Conversion, will release the government's final report on the nation's computer readiness on Wednesday, November 10, 1999.

This may be nothing more than fluff but at least it is information. The silence has been deafening lately.

Ah yes, strategically scheduled just a few days before Mr. Greenspin speaks, to assure investors that the United States is 99.99% compliant.

(little do they know what that 00.01% actually represents!)

don't know why it is taking so long, they probably wrote it in February (like NERC's utility industry press releases)...

Thanks Sharon.

It could be "fun."

at some point before the rollover--i expect the grandest CYA document ever from this administration (legal of sorts) just to say, "we did the best we could do". what do you think?

Hey Sharon!

Its all government spin anyway... We just have to be patient.

By the way, I did e-mail you, albeit it was short...

Thanks (although it may not, even with a stretch, fall under the definition of "information".)

The stage has already been set to point fingers and cast blame.

1. The Hoarders (negative connotations only)

2. Foreign Countries (Russia, China, Japan, Italy, OPEC)

3. Small/Med Business (did not take the Y2k seriously)
