operating temperature of Piotech DC-800

I recently bought a Piotech DC-800 at a computer fair for a bit over $300. The specs looked great, etc. However, apart from the fact that the price was jacked up at the show (compared to on-line), and the documentation and software are written from pluto, my biggest concern is that the camera gets warm-to-hot with the AC power source plugged in. I sent the camera back. They replaced it. The new one does the same? Any experience with overheated digitals? A unique Piotech problem? Advice? thanks, Seth

Answers

1. How long do you leave the camera plugged in for, before it gets warm/hot?

2. When you sent the camera back, did you send the power pack too? If not then... 3. Do you have the correct AC adapter. If you bought it at a trade show, they may have given you the wrong adapter.

4. Might have to talk to tech support of maybe someone here has one. Perhaps the heat problem is normal with this particular camera.

Re: my hot Piotech DC-800 1. The camera heats to warm within 5-10 minutes, hot after about 20. 2. I returned the camera and power pack/AC adaptor (one and same). They sent me back a new camera and a new power pack. The camera heats up like the original. 3. The AC adapter is the correct one for the camera. 4. Tech support validated the heat on camera sent back. But the new one is no better. 5. Perhaps you are correct and the overheating is "normal" for this camera, but what is the life-expectancy given this thermo-lability (liability). Have I (we) all been burned? Anyone else got a Pio-Bio? the heat
