I have an idea. I'd like to know what the rest of the club thinks of it.

Many online retailers (amazon.com & drugstore.com are two I have in mind) want to have associate sites. An associate site adds a link to these retail sites. The associate site gets a percentage of sales generated by the link.

For example, with amazon.com, if someone follows the link and buys a book the associate gets 5% of sales. And if a specific book recommendation is made on the associate site which results in the sale, the associate gets 15%.

So what I'd like to do is set up a RAAGCOS shopping page on the RAAGCOS web site. RAAGCOS members would be encouraged to do their online shopping through that page. The proceeds would go to the RAAGCOS treasury, funding trophies and prizes, social events, or ***the purchase of real estate***.

Personally, I probably spend $50-$100/ month just on Amazon.com and drugstore.com (Yes, I buy diapers on the internet) . If 50% of raagcos does similar that could end up putting +/-$100 into the RAAGCOS treasury every month - not enough to pay for golf, but enough for a damn good barbeque at the end of the year. And maybe we even attract sales from a few non-members. I could imagine a RAAGCOS members favorite golf book list etc.
