If I wait until Jan. to get my tabs but my plate expires in Dec. Do I pay $30 + the extra small understandable taxes (risk of getting sited, I know) or will they charge me the upserd current rate even though the new law has taken affect?

Answers

You will only be charged the $30 plus the service charge. You will not have to pay a penalty since it is not unlawful to park your car until January. That was explained in detail in the Journal American.
