We have a 6 month old MC. She has had ringworm for the last 3 months and we had to bathe her every 3 days for that time. We put her in the kitchen sink and used warm water and the sprayer attachment. She was very good as long as you kept your hand on her so she knew who was in charge. She would try to climb up our fronts to escape if we let her get a paw near us. When done bathing we'd wrap her in a towel and put some ear drying drops in her ears (to try to avoid an ear infection). We'd try to get all excess water off and then close her in the bathroom with us to dry her with the hair dryer (on low). It took two of us for about a month, but now my husband can do it all by himself. She shook quite a bit when she was wet and for awhile after we dried her. She just got chilled I think. Using a warm towel right out of the dryer helped the chills. Feel free to e-mail me if you need more info. I'll try to help.

You have not mentioned WHY you think you need to wash your cat. Under normal circumstances, a cat is quite capable of looking after its own bathing. If it gets into a great deal of dirt or grease you may have to step in (hopefully, however, you don't let your cat outside so it will stay out of things like that!). If you have not neutered your cat it also may get "greasy", particularly near the tail. This is called stud tail. Neutered cats rarely get greasy coats so this is yet another reason for neutering. However, if you are thinking of presenting your cat at a cat show (as a household pet if it does not have pedigree papers), one of the best and very comprehensive pieces on grooming can be found on the Coonyham web page (www.coonyham.com) Scroll down to "show kittens" and then near the bottom of the page is a link to "grooming". Good luck.
