Third and last posting for the Katadyn Cooperative Buy

The purpose of this message is to identify the water filtration systems available to us at lower than retail prices, provide decsriptions of various units, and indentify interest in making this coop order. In order for us to make this coop order, a minimum of 10 orders must be made for any of the following products: Katadyn drip filter, Katadyn combi-filter, Katadyn pocket filter, and the KFT expedition filter. In other words, a total of 10 orders of any combination of the four is required. We will need to commit to such an  order by Friday, November 5, 1999. All payments will need to be received no later than November 10, 1999. I anticipate delivery of units to me by December 1, 1999 and I can overnight units-- if this is deemed best.

The dealer wishes to remain anonymous as the price offered to us would result in the loss of his dealership/distribution of Katadyn and other products. I will be the sole contact for this coop order.

I would be interested if the price is right. But you did not give one....

How much are we getting those for...?

STFrancis,

Due to the very low price, the dealer has asked me to not to publish the price in a public forum. Email me privately and I'll email you back the prices and descriptions.

Sincerely, Stan Faryna

Just in case some people don't know anything about these filters, I've had a Katadyn pocket filter since 1993. It has been used all across Europe (London to Turkey) for 2 months and in India for 3 weeks. I can not recommend it strongly enough, and neither can friends of mine who have been around the world by bicycle with one. Just stick the hose in a stream or water and start pumping!

Two pieces of advice I do have, though:
(1)Try not to use a source of water with large numbers of particles e.g. sand in it... this leads to much more frequent cleaning being required and
(2)If not using the filter for a period of several days or more, unscrew it and let the ceramic filter dry out. Otherwise the trapped bacteria and molds will multiply.
