Will I-695 repeal the local option MVET??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

Will the passage of I-695 eliminate the local option MVET for Peirce, King, and Snohomish counties. Either it will, or Wsdot is deceiving us. The WSDOT is saying yes on their I-695 "impact" website. If so, that is the latest in a NUMBER of nails in the coffin of Sound Transit in general, and light rail in particular.

http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/I-695/ Assumes transit systems would not collect up to 0.725% MVET under I-695 and that RTA would not collect local option MVET. This assumption is based on the repeal of the state MVET, upon which the local rate is based, as well as the repeal of the administrative apparatus required to collect it. Above estimates assume Referendum 49 bonds would not be sold since the MVET distribution to the motor vehicle account, designed to service the debt on the related bond authority, would be repealed under the initiative.

Some people are said to have a one-track mind, but Craig, I believe you are down to one rail.

Now d-

I would think as a pro-MVET guy you would WANT everybody to know the potential implications of this vote. Or do you believe that WSDOT is being misleading in their I-695 impact website. If you do, you might want to report them to the PDC.
