I am sorry, but if there is going to be a self imposed bottom, that is something I can not be a part of. None of my scores are lame, I know I have (bleep) damned tried on them, but I can't do better. There are games that I am at the top on. Does that mean I should stop playing the lower ones? While I don't think so, that is the answer a minimum percentage is giving. If it is truly "lame", then it would get 0 pts based on percentage only. If it isn't, then the score should be allowed what it is given. Until I hear a good reason to the contrary, "and the server is dying" as not a good answer, it sounds like Henny Penny anymore, (since Zwaxy is going to MySQL, where there will be enough juice) I must stay away from MARP.

I will, though, out of courtesy, create and store the tourney two rom page for the tournament, because I feel I already made that committment, and I will not back out on it.

I'm sure it doesn't say that it's a permanent change, and if all the server woes go away, then surely it could be changed back. Personally, I think "the server keeps dying" is easily a good enough reason, as we've been told it's the volume of recordings that causes problems. And when there's no server there are no pages you can download or upload files from/to.

I just think that the lame scores are wasting system resources, and therefore clogging up the scripts. And as for a self-imposed bottom of 5 points isn't there already a limit as there already scores there scoring no points. Isn't the idea of a leaderboard to show the best scores?

If I scored 100k on Galaga (which I haven't) I wouldn't upload it anyway, because it is a lame score. But when people upload scores for 100's of games, when all it looks like they've done is load, record, play and quit a game, without even going back to it to try and improve the score, then I'm all for banning them.

marp.retrogames.com is not a backup for your input files. I keep all mine locally, and there are some I haven't uploaded.
