Do you have info on Clothing and Equipment at pro prices?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Mount Brighton Ski Patrol : One Thread |
I have volunteered to be the focal point in the patrol for information regarding clothing and equipment discounts. i am especially interested in contacts and programs for pro-form discounts which we may have available. we now have a great jacket source and we can build on it to get the word out about other items we need, i.e. skis, snowboards, boots and clothing. the NSP catalog is a start but there is so much out there for us if we share any leads and information.

Tom,
Great idea! A couple that I know of:
Hope this helps!
- Steve Smith is a rep for Dynastar skis, Lange boots, and Original Sin snowboards/boots/bindings. I purchased a board through Steve last year. He is a member of the Ford Thunderbird Ski School, and has taught with the Mt. Brighton Ski School for several years, but I'm not sure if he'll be around this winter, as he recently retired. But I do know that he is still a rep offering pro form pricing, and has been attending the T-Birds dryland classes on Monday nights. In the past he has offered pro form pricing to patrollers, but you may want to contact him for details.
- Dave Chapman either is or has access to a Burton rep. He recently ordered boots and bindings for Diane. You should definitly contact him for details.
- Everybody probably gets the little catalog from Bolle` with "pro" prices on goggles and sunglasses.
- A few years back, Diane and I bought skis (more than once) from a guy who was a patroller at either Pine Knob or Alpine Valley, I forget which. He was a Region or Division training person, and he was an Olin rep. I think he was also involved with the Blizzard Ski School. Obviously, I don't remember his name. It's been a few years, so I don't know if he's still involved or not.

After Bavarian Village cancelled their ski patrol day 11/14, they gave me the names of 2 tecnica reps, both in the Traverse City area, When I finally heard from one, he explained that reps are not dealing with ski pros or patrollers anymore, only with shops. This rep. told me to get proforms directly from the shop which sells tecnica, vokl and marker. I don't know about other brands of equip
