Epson PhotoPC 850Z

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I've been hearing a lot about the OLY 2K and the coolpix 950. The two digicams (correct me if I'm wrong)is the most reviewed and regarded as the best buy for those costing under US$1000. However good they are, they also shared certain (critical!) weaknesses and drawbacks..which in the end, holds me from buying either one of them. I guessed the "soon to be arrived" OLY 2020Z or the next-gen Nikon may be the answers to my prayer. Quite recently, I came across the Epson 850Z. The specs seem too good to be true. It's like having an OLY 2K and more. The solar powered LCD is the most innovative thing. Everybody has been complaining about power drain and how much time & money one has to spent on re-charging and/or buying new batts. Next is the HyPict???, which sounds something like resolution booster (nothing to do with interpolation, I hope!).

Having said all these, I'm very much eager to lay my hands on this unit. I also like to know if anyone has tried out this unit. I'm really interested to know more!! Do comments....
