I found this view near a rest stop two weeks ago in SE Idaho on a back road into the Teton/Yellowstone area. There were bald eagles in those trees!

Jeff, That's a great scene. I like the composition and the placement of the river leading me thtough the image. I wonder about a couple of things, however. Did you try using a polarizer for any of the shots. The colors look good and probably look great on the slide, but the color of the water might be stronger if it didn't reflect the overxast sky so much. Also, I think I would try cropping the top below the dark band, before the trees start. This has the effect of filling the entire frame with those great trees and will create an illusion of stronger, more briliant colors. Now lets see some of those bald eagles.

I would suggest cropping a bit off the top. Also the image seems to have suffered from the digitazation process. I'm sure the orginal slide is a stunner.

Mark's suggestion for cropping is mine also, and the polarizer to. This is a very nice picture of the Snake and some of the country it flows through, I lived in Idaho for a few years and it makes me want to go back there. Pat

cropping the top just after the yellow trees will eliminate the trees that don't match in color and force the viewer to follow the river route, nice view. Good job.

I agree with the above comments. I think the small changes suggested would turn a good image into a great one. Really nice shot. Outstanding vision.

Thanks for the comments. As suggested above, the process of squeezing a 20+MB scan into 45k has not allowed the original detail to come though. The water has plenty of detail on the slide. I have to agree that cropping the top helps. I had to use my 300mm carefully to keep out any "hand of man" ....

I love the texture in the bottom of the picture, even in the digital image. I'm sure the original would be even better. Agree with the crop above the yellow trees on the far bank. Very nice.
