I just purchased a Kodak DC215 (Gold). It is great for taking snapshots around the house or on trips. Not too great in low lighting because the lens (which is very good) is a slow one f stops of f4 but its 2x zoom is excellent. The Gold model comes with 8MB Compactflash memory card, a SanDisk Compactflash card reader (USB model), serial cable and 4 Kodak AA alkaline batteries. It takes excellent snapshots pictures and it is very easy to upload the images to your computer using SanDisk Compactflash card reader. The DC215 is very simple to operate. My wife liked the camera so much that I got one for her too. My son also liked the camera for its excellent pictures that I got one for his Christmas present. It is a great low cost digital camera for the first time user. The Oly D450 Zoom is a good camera but it was out of my price range when I brough. But now the Oly D450 Zoom should be a lot cheaper. I am glad that I brough the Kodak DC215 (Gold), it is my first digital camera and for the price that I pay for it, it is an excellent deal. Download a copy of Opera browser (http://www.opera.com) for 30 days free trial and visit the Kodak web site and compare the DC215 pictures with other camera web sites pictures. Opera browser will let you open up as many windows as you want and window picture can be view side by side. The D450 Zoom has a faster lens, a f2.8 and three different ISO setting which is a very good feature. You will be happy with either digital camera, the Kodak DC215 or the Oly D450 Zoom, depending on how much you want to pay. The choice is yours.

My Work purchased a DC215 sometime ago and we have had nothing but bad experiences with it. First of all it is a battery chewing device - we can get maybe 15-30 mins out of the batterys (using the LCD of course) before it dies. We also found it troublesome for close up pictures. Tho to qualify this statement we were taking pictures of surface mounted Components. AS for being a cheap camera - hardly - if you do not like the nice battery sucking device you can buy a really expensive AC adapter to go with it. Also you can then buy a lens kit to take those nice close up pictures we wanted, but even that looks like an "after" thought from kodak - flimsly supported xtra lens.

This camera for us was not value for money - i would have spent and extra $200 odd dollars and gone for a fujistu.

In curries South Wales UK, I purchased a universal adapter costing £13 which is approximately $17 I think. If you do not have a curries near you I have found the manufacturers website :

Hope this was useful .
