Suggestion to raise money to replace "lost" funds...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

I suspect that there are quite a few "little guys" out there that will be buying newer cars once it won't require a second mortgage to finance the tabs for them.

Maybe all the old junker cars that are being replaced should be brought to the front lawn of the State Capitol and donated for scrap metal. That oughtta bring in a few dollars for the politicians to squander foolishly.

Oh, wait, they won't be able to squander our money foolishly anymore, because we'll have a say now.

Guess it wasn't such a great idea, after all...

No,it is not a good idea to dump our old clunkers on the capital lawn.

They would only make maybe 50-100 bucks of each wreck while the "commission to remove old cars" would spend $49,834 per vehicle to remove them after 6 years of study by consultants and paying "prevailing union wages".

Liberals think(?)--taxes are too low and ATM fees too high.

Yes, it would be difficult to tell which pile is the cars and which pile is the public artwork.

Perhaps we could get some of the "1% for public art" money in exchange for the clunkers/sculptures. There's another revenue stream to offset the loss of MVET!
