The Panasonic encoder is well put together and it has some nice features for the price. It can make vcd compliant files from a number of different sources and it can resize. It comes as a stand alone or plugin for a NLE system. Like most it has limitations which you will not find out about until you actually start using it with your computer system - most programs do!

Image quality is good but the stand alone LSX encoder version 2.51 is subjectively better, however, it is more expensive but it does lead you into mpeg-2, dvd etc which the Panasonic cannot do at this point in time.
