Art Deco gas kitchen stove

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Art Deco Society of Washington : One Thread

We just purchased an antique kitchen stove. We would like to know information about. We think it is dated from the early thirties.

The brand name on the stove is "Prosperity" by Sears & Roebuck. Sears does not have anything listed for this brand. We are trying to locate some early Sears catalogues.

The stove is porcelain yellow with green knobs/handles, it has four burners on top and the top folds down and it black/white marble swirl. It becomes a counter top.

We are planning on using it, actually we are redesigning my "whole" kitchen around this beautiful stove.

The grates for the burners are missing. If we could locate a picture of this stove then we could get the grates made.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Happy Halloween!!!!!

I also have a Sears "Prosperity Twin-Top"and haven't had luck learning about it.

White with white(ish) knobs (only two left, the others were missing. All of the side warmer grates and burner grates are there, and it's operationsl. I could part with some pieces if I can't find a buyer for the whole thing.

We also have a prosperity stove, guessing from the 40's, and can not find information either. Our search lead us here. If anyone can help suggest what the value of this stove is, please do. Thanks!

AVAILABLE FOR PARTS IN CHICAGO. I have a Sears Prosperity sitting in my basement from the 40's. The oven does not work (the valve is broken) but otherwise it is in good condition. It is white with black trim - very deco. If any one wants to come a get it they can have it. If I don't hear anything over the next month or so I will have to give it to the salvage pickers who come through the neighborhood periodically.
