hi. can someone tell me how does A-DEP works on a rebel x, cause it dont focus dep1 and dep2 like other eos, then how does the camera knows it?. can i trust this feature?, or i better get a lens with scale. thanks in advance. and forgive my english

I assume it works the same as the Rebel G that I used to own. I believe it has three AF points just like the Rebel G. In DEP mode the camera will try to set a small enough aperture to keep all of the active focusing points sharply focused.

This differs from the other EOS cameras I've owned. Those you have to press the shutter button down part way and get it to focus on one subject for dep1 and then press it again to focus on the second subject for dep2 and then recompose and shoot.

The Rebel X/G method works faster, but only if you can get the focusing points to line up with the subjects.
