Ending weeks of wavering, Seattle City Council candidate Charlie Chong yesterday "reaffirmed" his opposition to the I-695 tax-limitation initiative

# "wavering" "reaffirmed" typical Pol speak. Guy is sticking his finger in the air.

"I call it the BMW initiative, because it would save rich people a lot of money, but for people like me, who have never owned a car worth more than $3,000, it's going to mean $30," Chong said yesterday.

# Rich -vs- Poor

Chong says his opposition wouldn't cost him votes with initiative supporters. "People who support me say: We don't always agree with you, Charlie. But we support you because we know where your heart is, Chong said.

City Councilman Nick Licata, who has endorsed Chong, said it is unlikely initiative supporters would turn to Wills, who has strongly opposed I-695 on the grounds it would force cuts in bus service.

"Where else are they going to go?" Licata asked. "I think most people are reasonable enough to know that Charlie's going to be with them the other 99 percent of the time. They're not going to cut off their nose to spite their face."

# The people may know where his heart is but apparently no one knows where his values and character are. Ive got a suggestion, vote for neither. If this guy thinks that no one will care how he votes on I-695 then he will find out on Nov. 2nd. I also love the part about it being the BMW initiative a little class warfare never hurt a politician.

Ed thanking my parents for not staying in the Seattle area.

For Shame Charlie Chong.

You campaigned on POTHOLES and now you have become a pothole.

Maybe if we ground up all the Anti-695 garbage we could FIX all the potholes!!!
