Tuesday jog at Shawnee Mission Park (10-19-99)

Dan and I were the only OKers at tonight's Tuesday run at Shawnee Mission Park. The days are getting shorter and we were running out of light by the time we'd done two loops of the test course.

After a warm-up look, we ran a hard loop. Dan ran 14:12 and I managed 14:58. I was quite happy with my time -- it is only a few seconds off my p.r. and the run felt good (it didn't actually feel good, but it felt the way a hard run should feel).

Dan brought his latest invention -- a magnifying glass that attaches to the hand and makes it easier to read detailed maps. It looked like a good idea and was pretty well made (hand made by Dan).

So, Dan, when will you be making the plans available?

Patents, testing, focus groups etc... These things take time.

Magnifying glass? Hmmm.... what's next, vetting tape tied to his glasses? Thorngaitors? A minivan?

Don't forget to mark your calanders for the all out test run next Tuesday night. I predict a new world test run record. Maybe even 2, just like last summer when both Sammy and Mark broke the record.

Count me out on the assult on the TRWR tonight. I have a slight ankle injury and do not want to irritate it any further before the Long-O.
