I have an art deco dining table set designed by a Maurice Champion which I purchased in Paris. What can you tell me about the designer?

Maurice Champion born Le Raincy France 1899 - 1962 Maurice Champion was a higly esteemed decorator at the end of the 1930's. He war born the son of a furniture dealer in Raincy. A self taught artist, he drew and worked alone. He took part in the international exhibition in 1937 where he was awarded with the gold meda. On October 1 2004 - January 16 2005 the Bass Museum Miami Beach Fl is doing an outstanding Art Deco exhibtion with 40 paintings and 30 pieces of furniture included an armoire designed by Marcel Champion visit www.basmuseum.org for further information.
