A. Initial "Mechanics" Testing

All new member candidates shall be required to successfully complete the following testing requirements in order to be considered for acceptance on the Team:

  1. Complete a written test (Sample I) on Basic Strategy Decisions (100% Accuracy Required).
  2. Play through either two 6-deck shoes, six 2-deck games or twelve 1-deck games completely dealt, while making Basic Strategy Decisions based on the rules of the relative game (100% Accuracy Required).

Note: Those using Count Systems which involve True Count Conversion and/or Side Count of Aces, will be asked at random points in the shoe, # Decks remaining and # Aces remaining. Those using counts which do not require True Count Conversion will also be asked at random to determine number of decks remaining. Although such players do not need to perform such TC conversions, it is important to ensure all players possess the ability to accurately determine penetration levels.

  3. Count down a single deck of cards, with 1 card pulled from the deck, in 25 seconds or less, while successfully predicting the value of the card which was pulled. This will be performed 10 times. (90% Success Required). In the event a candidate is unsuccessful in requirement # 3, the candidate will be given the opportunity to re-test in a "lightning round". This shall be performed with two or more separate decks of cards, having the candidate count down 1 deck, and after completion, immediately starting the next deck. This will be performed 5 times with the same requirements as # 3 above (100% Success Required).
  4. Complete a written test (Sample II) filling in the Count at which any of the listed play variations are made, and what that variation is, in accordance with the Count System the candidate is using.
  5. Play through either two 6-deck shoes, six 2-deck games or twelve 1-deck games completely dealt, while making Betting Decisions, Basic Strategy Decisions, and Play Variations in accordance with the count, based on the rules of the relative game (100% Accuracy on Basic Strategy Required, 2 Betting Errors of no more than 1 Unit permitted, 2 errors in Play Variations Permitted, 100% attentiveness to incorrect payouts favoring house and/or dealer error in settling a hand Required).

Note: Those using Count Systems which involve True Count Conversion and/or Side Count of Aces, will be asked at random points in the shoe, # Decks remaining and # Aces remaining.
