Olympus 340R - same as 340L?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I've been told the 340L is no longer available and has been replaced by the 340R. I saw no review of the 340R and just wanted to make sure it was comparable to the 340L and that there were no major problems or differences between them. Thanks.

Essentially the 340R is the same but slightly improved product over the 340L. Here is a breakdown of the changes and release from Olympus: The D-340R is the same great 1.3 Million pixel camera (1,280 x 960 resolution) as the D-340L, but it gives your customers the following 3 exciting new features:

7 8 MB SmartMedia 7 3X Image Inspection Mode (same as the highly acclaimed D-400 Zoom) 7 EXIF Image mode (3-JPG Compressed modes and 1-TIF Uncompressed mode)

hope that helps, by the way, they are highly constrained through the end of the year.
