Should we have a minimum requirement for membership renewal?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Raagcos : One Thread

We are limited to 50 members by our by-laws. At present we have a waiting list. We also have a few members who don't participate much in club activities. It has been suggested that we should have a minimum participation criteria for membership renewal (for example, to renew you must have played in x number of events in the previous year).

Is this a good idea? What should the criteria be?

This is what I love about RAAGCOS - the diversity. Some members like cute butts, some are raging queers, some have a small penis. My gosh - some members are completely without a penis! And quite a few members seem to have suffered rather severe brain damage. Yet despite all this we can get together once a month to play golf, and later complain about the cheaters and slowpokes behind there backs, without a hint of prejudice. I love RAAGCOS!

I think that a minimum criteria should be set up to create a set of members for review. I think it should be 2 tour championship events - participation in the Somerville cup and club championship should also count. I don't think it should be an automatic expulsion, but rather a membership committee decision. Andrew

We are not supposed to be just for tracking ones handicap, so I believe that there should be a minimum requirement. To be able to renew a membership, you should need to play in some number of tournaments, I would say including the match plays. Since there are 5 regular, 1 exhibition, and 2 potential match plays, it seems that participation in 2 of these should be a minimum. The purpose of the club is to encourage participation in golf, so if you are not participating, then membership should not be guaranteed.

I think that Shawn Bunn should be kicked out of the club. He was the Sommerville Cup champion last year and barely participated in any of the events. His name should be removed from the cup.

I think people who use a good idea by Chris, i.e. being able to submit responses via internet, and turn it into a childish game, should be kicked off the club. By the way, I have a small penis.

I don't know about a membership requirement. After all, I blew off three of the touney's myself. I owe it all to sucking at golf, which everyone knows that I do. But I do look forward to the one or two times that I see Jay Mcguiness, and get a chance to check out his ass. I love the members of raagcos , and I love everything that they stand for.

I don't know if making members play in x number of events is a fair idea. For instance, sometimes my "BE GAY, BE PROUD" meetings are scheduled last second and I can't "blow" them off. I do want to remain a member of RAAGCOS though. I love golf and I so enjoy putting from the rough. And Jens is such a hottie!!

I am going to feel really bad about accepting the Somerville Cup tonight. Being that I did lose to Tom "The Terminator" McInerney. If I wasn't gay I guess I wouldn't care

I think that Joe Iaricci deserves the cup more than anyone in the club. He absolutely smoked all of his competition. The only slight blemish on his record was due to Tom Mcinerney cheating. I just wish I was man enough to beat that gentleman. Kudos to Joe, the new Sommerville Cup champion!!!

I think we should have one big shower and determine the "minimum requirements" Adrian, you're already ... "in".
