"I signed that treaty - and this country will honor it..."

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

This is an interesting attitude -

announcing it in public with press cameras rolling- after the congress voted.... Could there be the same type of attitude regarding decisions about Y2K associated emergency solutions - for the good of...the nation, majority vote democracy... peoples needs..or what someone thinks is best -

regardless of the law or agreed method of government operated by the people. This concept alone might make some get a little more serious about how they prepare and what with.

Horseshit!

You sound like you need to take a deep breath, Uncle.

What about the E.O.s? What about the approval of the US Military's deployment against US Citizens under the command of FEMA? (do a search on "REX 84" to see what kind of "contingency planning" these selfless helpers of storm victims have up their sleeves) What about Cohen telling us that what the authors of the Constitution called a noose is really a modern necktie: the use of US Military against US Citizens? Do you think that's all just busywork, or fantasy? Or do you think that yes, all the machinery of an anti-constitutional police state is prepared, but Clinton and company are of such high moral character that they would never flip the switch and put it all into motion? Or do you think that once they have TOTAL CONTROL that they will willingly relinquish that and restore democratic government a.s.a.p., and that's a-okay with you? Why is it "horseshit," when a preponderance of facts tell us that it is the ushering in of a military police state?

If only it WERE the usual "horseshit." It looks like DRAGON shit to me...

Liberty

-- Liberty (liberty@theready.now), October 14, 1999.

I don't think the military is planning anything "against" the American citizen. I do think the military is planning how to control the violent underclass, so people like yourself can sit safely in their homes opening up their stashed beans. You must remember the number of 18 th street gang members in L.A. alone is in the hundreds of thousands.

-- Paula (chowbabe@pacbell.net), October 14, 1999.

Paula,

That "violent underclass" (as you so sweetly called them) are as much an American citizen as you and your illustrious nonviolent upperclass. I'll have you know that I'm one of your "underclass" people and I for one find your attitude offensive. You and the upperclass are just as violent as the underclass, so lose the attitude. It really isn't nice! On top of which, I'm not a gang member and don't know any, either. By the way, just for definition's sake, what is your definition of underclass?

I noticed that you cut down stay at home moms on a different thread, why? Why does a woman that puts family first offend you so much? OR is this the way you keep that high opinion of yourself that you have -- by cutting down anyone that isn't like you?

Rant off

-- me (me@me.com), October 14, 1999.

I agree with Paula. We should bring back FORCED STERILIZATION of the "violent underclass," like we had in the 1920s, in America's Rockefeller-funded eugenics (human breeding) program.

With enough Paulas, we could have world peace with out much of a mess to clean up at all...

Liberty

Paula,

Please respond to me's post. It will be interesting to see how you're going to get that foot out of your mouth. HUNREDS of THOUSANDS????. Is that 100,000 gang members, 250,000? Maybe it's 975,000!!. Glad I live in a small town.

-- TM (mercier7@pdnt.com), October 14, 1999.

Careful what you say there Uncle Deedah and Paula. If you say anything that even remotely gives the impression that Clinton isn't a total and complete Antichrist then these psychopathic hair-trigger militants like "Liberty" here will blow a fuse and come unglued. Some of these guys are likely to snap at any moment and go off like that guy in Texas that just killed 3 cops.

-- @ (@@@.@), October 14, 1999.

Actually, if the Y2K problem pans out the it is looking, I'm more concerned about just exactly how everyone thinks the govt is going to transmit the orders to those Natl Guard units. Relay Smoke Signals? Carrier Pigeon? Bicycle Courier?

Any ideas? (I am still waiting for the update to the post I saw about some company with an emergency phone, with a TV station backup, and a radio station as a 'last resort' which was 'investigating' alternative communications mechanisms in case all three failed. Anyone got an update?)

Re Paula and stay at home moms--

Paula is the one who called my wife, and I'll presume other such women, a "muffin." Isn't that a nice thing to say? Pete

I sure hope this isn't the real Liberty and not some kind of Fascist troll. Anyone who really loves freedom and justice would but disgusted with these remarks.

-- coprolith (coprolith@rocketship.com), October 14, 1999.

I took Liberty's post as sarcasm.

"With enough Paulas, we could have world peace with out much of a mess to clean up at all..."

That sentence gives it away. Liberty might be a bit paranoid, but no dummy psycho.

I've had it with this fascist bastard, wagging his finger at the cameras and pretending to be our daddy. He's more like a perverted uncle if you ask me.

Just for your info:

I know Paula, I have known her for 6 years now....let me explain her anger and condescension.

She is a formerly abused woman ( by her father) and is now a VERY active and militant lesbian. She has her views and won't change her mind so everyone stop wasting their time. Just let her rant and rave her ignorance just as the 1st Amendment allows her.

Peace to all!

-- Jill (midwesterner@usa.net), October 15, 1999.

Holy Christ... a militant lesbian? Sheeessh, now that's a scary thought, particularly for we of the male persuasion! Well, it didn't occur to me in my list of supplies, but maybe I'll go out and get one of those bullet-proof jock straps!

-- @ (@@@.@), October 15, 1999.

People, I can lean to the left and lean to the right with the best of em. Paula, it did seem to be a class warfare statement. I can't believe that was liberty. When I was younger, I believed in One world not Three. It's just not realistic on earth folks. We do need to isolate and insulate before we can work on true community. Clinton propogates internal strife while promoting world socialism. Won't work. Just another unrealistic aproach to harmony. Prohibition just don't work folks.

-- R. Wright (blaklodg@hotmail.com), October 15, 1999.

I especially enjoyed his 'lengthy' description of what he "hopes" the American people will look for in their NEXT president. He basicly attempted to say in so many words........ME!

What a full-blown ass wipe. I fully anticipated he would plunge to the floor, kicking, screaming and holding his breathe until he turned blue, the entire time I watched him.

Just for the record Paula........I'm one "muffin" you'd choke on, sister.

-- Will continue (farming@home.com), October 15, 1999.

just another.....are you familiar with the new satellite network called "irridium"? supposedly a new dedicated system put in orbit over the last 2 years and touted as being Y2K proof......smoke signals mighta worked, tho......lol

-- Jay Urban (jayho99@aol.com), October 15, 1999.

Liberty,

One would have to assume that the ENTIRE military, Senate, Congress, and the legions of rabid Clinton-haters would simply look the other way while he "throned" himself. Can you see that happening without "Civil War II"? Sorry, I do not buy that for a moment.

While there are a LOT of things that I see as screwed-up in how this country is run, I doubt that I am alone in my sentiment that allowing our CIC to appoint himself "Dictator for Life" would be either a lost cause, or a call for open revolt. He's smarter than I am, I'm sure he see's that too.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), October 15, 1999.

Just Another Engineer,

The short answer is the National Communication System. Defense Message System (INTERNET Messaging) will likely work to most places, AULots of redundant communications with backup power. AUTODIN (teletype like messaging) will likely not work, Some voice (POTS) switches on bases will work, some wil likely not.

In the end, HF radio, including the MARS network provides redundant communications for Command and Control, which works reliably in disasters.

-- ng (cantprovideemail@none.com), October 15, 1999.

Uncle Deedah- Could you see Clintion declaring a National Emergency sometime next year?? Could you then see the possibility of him not relinqishing his post of President?? If the situation is bad enough country-wide or even world-wide, the plan could very well be accepted by those still left in charge.

And that is with us ruling out assassination of anyone that stands in his way. Now that could never happen here, in this country right??

-- Brent James Bushardt (brentj@webt.com), October 15, 1999.

Uncle Deedah- Could you see Clintion declaring a National Emergency sometime next year??

Yes, if things turn really foul and rotten.

Could you then see the possibility of him not relinqishing his post of President??

No, not that this means that he doesn't WISH that he was king for life. I sorta think he might like that. But again we come up against all of those folks who have read the Constitution, and all of those folks who would rather see the country run by Red Buttons, than by Bill Clinton. We held elections during the Civil War, didn't we?

If the situation is bad enough country-wide or even world-wide, the plan could very well be accepted by those still left in charge.

Accepted by YOU?? Really? How about the Republican Congress? Roll over and play dead? How about the military? No not all of those millions of fine men in uniform who LOVE Clinton (joke), I mean the other ones, the ones who have seen his divestiture of military supremacy over the rest of the world. Would they fall in line behind him? Follow orders blindly? I don't see it.

Are you a cow who goes willingly to the milking station? Do you think the rest of America would follow meekly behind?

Please.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), October 15, 1999.

Uncle Deedah- Yep, you are correct Sir!!! It can not happen here. Never. Ever. Just like the Waco burning, Ruby Ridge shooting, Oklahoma City bombing, TWA 800 disaster, World Trade center bombing and anything else that I missed "could never happen here." As long as you continue to believe that, it CAN happen here. Your attitude of ingnorance and denial will allow it to happen here.

Please excuse the language I am about to use if it offends you; get your head out of your ass Uncle Deedah and start being and acting as an American. Not a sheeple.

-- Brent James Bushardt (brentj@webt.com), October 15, 1999.

OK, Mr. Brent James Bushhardt, since the gloves are off on your call, Fuck You Very Much, asshole.

I don't recall your slimy self spending much time here, or at the minimum, I don't remember a plethera of your posts being in observance. See the archives and read all about who has their head up their asshole, asshole. Me, I do more than post on a BBS when it comes to caring about freedom, shithead.

Convince me that I am wrong rather than spilling venom of a view you do not share, then I will get back to you.

Until then, eat me.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), October 15, 1999.

Aww c'mon Uncle and Brent, don't fight so nasty, scares me.

Brent, even if you were right, it only takes one psycho to assasinate a president in this country for no apparent reason other than he doesn't like him. I don't think American psychos like kings too much unless it's themselves.

Uncle, even if you were wrong, you'd still be right. Half of the American population is psychotic, the other half is neurotic. hmm...

-- (flakygirl@home.now), October 15, 1999.

Uncle Deedah- All I am trying to say is that it is Possible for Clinton to attempt to remain in power unconstitutionaly. Especially so, IF Y2K is bad. It seems to me that you are being blinded by the fact that this is America and 'bad thing's don't happen here.'

I served in the U.S. Army and I am a patriot to my core. I am also rebellious and I happen to believe that the Constitution was the greatest document ever written, with the Declaration of Independence being the second. I know by seeing with my eyes wide open, that the current Federal Government is UN-consitutional; and hence Illegal or De-Facto. They rule us by force, ignorance and apathy.

I did not want to start a flame war, or insult you. I was trying to make a point; unfortunately my ability to write is not what I would like it to be. I apoligize if I insulted you.

P.S. I also do more than post on this and other forums. I speak out my opinions to people around me. I also have stopped paying Fed Income Tax 2 years ago. I have bought a rifle and 4000rds of ammunition for Y2K AND because I have read the law and realize that I am a member of the Militia.

-- Brent James Bushardt (brentj@webt.com), October 15, 1999.

Sorry as well for the rather nasty comeback. Like I said, Bill probably would LOVE to be King. I am however of the opinion that there are too many folks like us for it to be done. He is not the right guy to try it, he is too hated. It would be ugly.

Cheers
