He is bleached and earless alright, first one I ever saw. Nice shot, if I were to do anything I would crop it about 1/4 inch above his head and remove the sand, I find it distracting, but it lends emphasis to space and loneliness. Pat

Wow! I'm impressed with the subject and the photo. I wouldn't crop it at all. I love composition and the monotone color. You've done well to capture the uniqueness of this unusual lizard in its habitat. Are they common to this area? I hope I am able to see one in person some day! Thanks so much for sharing! Donna

This lizard is common to White Sands; it is the first that I have seen. I found that if I crop the top, the hill on the bottom left of the photo becomes distracting (you can use your browser do demonstrate this); I left the top to draw your eyes to the head of the lizard. The scan is soft; the actual photo is sharper. Thanks for the kind words.
