Olympus 2000 - varying picture quality

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I'm a newbie at digital photography and have recently purchased an Olympus 2000. I have a lot to learn! Some of my photos are turning out very well, others very jagged and poor quality. Some of my photos taken in bright sunlight are especially poor. Are outdoor sunny photos something the Oly 2000 doesn't handle well or am I doing something wrong?

I have an Oly 2000 (for about 4 months now)(although photographing with a digital, previously an Agfa, for about 1 year) and have not experienced any quality problems. The only photos that are less than perfect are when my subject moves before the picture is taken or if I don't aim the camera at the object I want to focus on (i.e. focusing on the background behind my subjects). Generally, every other picture is great, specifically in the sunshine, even shooting directly into the sun. Could you describe "very Jagged," perhaps you have a problem with your particular camera.
