...or is there a greater than normal infestation of broomslingers here today?

I thought the same thing.

Ron, yes and no. Mostly, there's just one pitifully virulent troll, with an unintenionally humorous misnomer. He brings to mind the polly equivalent of al-d...shouting the same inchoherent jingoism on every thread, stuck caps-lock key, indiscriminate punctuation and badly in need of a spell checker. I hope he gets the delete treatment soon.

I hear grades K-12 let out early today.

Maybe it's because the Dow dropped over 200 points today. Is there a plunge protection team at work here?

Maybe it's because you're all delusional.

The polly claim of victory is stupid. First of all, it's not a war. Last time I checked we were all Americans.

Secondly, the news is not good. It's bad. Yes, we are announcing some victories here domestically, but dammit we should have been doing that for the last year. Some victories doesn't cut it.

I don't know what the deal is, but a psychological onslaught on doomers doesn't do a damn thing to fix Y2K or prevent its effects.

America....truly one of the most inward looking nations on earth.

Right, Will. It's like living in Chicago - "you mean there's life beyond the outlet mall?"
