Coolpix 950 and batterypacks...?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have a Coolpix 950 and I just got it. I am not so crazy about using AA batteries all the time

Have any of you all ever used a battery pack ? What I mean is a little box which clips to your belt or waist and a cord runs from this little box into the camera to provide it power so the internal AA batteries are not needed

There is a company which sells a device called a Universal PowerPak which says it is for digital cameras the site is http://www.igo.com and type in the following number, in the "search field" on there site 45205.

Any suggestions, comments

Thank you

Andrew

Hi Andy I have a 950 and it really uses allot of batteries so I bought the rechargeable AA at www.thomasdistributing.com. It is the best price I have found and they offer several different brands of batterries and chargers. I don't know about the power pack that you are talking about but it would seem to me that the power cord from the power pack to the camera would be a bother. Good luck with your new camera

I have a 950 and a few sets of Quest Gold (1500mha) NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) Batteries and 1 charger. They are a bit expensive but work great! I always have 1 set in the charger. I see now that my local target has 1200 mha NIMH batteries for much less. I wonder if these willl work in my Quest charg
