Hi,I was hoping you could help me with a problem I have, Im not sure were I heard it but I was told that the Pope has asked for us to pray the Saint Michael the arch angel prayer, I was hoping that our church would say the prayer after the rosary, and when asked, how do you know that he said this and were did I get my information, I really could not give them an answer. Do you know if this is indeed true and were I can get the information on more details to show the group. Thank you and God bless, Xenia

Actually, it was Pope Leo XIII, at the end of the last century, who wrote and promulgated the St. Michael prayer. He did so after a vision in which the devil was given permission to persecute the Church for about a century.Pope Leo XIII also asked that the prayer be prayed after each Mass. But this is not a command, I believe.
One source that documents this is the book, The Final Hour, by Michael Brown. I have heard of this prayer and the story behind it well before that book came out, and I don't mean to endorse all the ideas in the book. But it is a source for the story.
The Pope also favors this prayer.
