Bogen Ballheads 3262QR vs. 3413QR

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I am in the process of upgrading my tripod legset from a Bogen 3205 to a Bogen 3221. I presently own a Bogen 3262QR ballhead and thought since I am buying a new legset, why not a ballhead as well. I called Bogen and the tech rep told me they are the same. I called B&H and they told me that it is an upgraded and better version (smoother). Has anyone heard about or has used this product? Any information will be helpful. Thank you.

Hey Charles, I just purchased the Bogen 3221GN tripod and 3413QR head. I was also looking at the 3262QR and after some research I found the 3413QR to be better and smoother. It has a "double internal mechanism" as opposed to the single mechanism in the 3262QR. I wasn't quite sure about that difference meant but the side by side comparison proved the 3413QR "pro ball" to be smoother feeling with solid locking power. Oh, remember you are only spending $50 on a ball head (B&H) so don't don't compare it to a Arca or Kirk ($400) unless you are ready to spend that much :-)....For the price/value/performace the 3413QR Pro Ball is excellent.
