We've talked about Thanksgiving before but here it is - one day before Canadian Thanksgiving (and I have a big table planned for dinner tommorow) and I'm starting to think about it more carefully.
What are you guys thankful for?
Me? I'm thankful for my children and their good health. I'm thankful for my friends and my family. I'm thankful to be alive. I'm thankful that my journal is doing for me what I want it to do. I'm thankful to live in Canada. I'm thankful to have my toys (cameras and computers, I'm thinking) so I can take pictures and share them. I'm thankful to have met so many new and wonderful people through my journal. I'm just plain thankful.

What am I thankful for? A long list, too - my husband, my children and their good health and good spirits. My one grandchild - and the one coming in April. I'm thankful to have a home (even if it's currently disguised as a construction site), to have my own things around me - books, music, dogs (of *course* dogs). I'm grateful to still have my mother, and thankful for her robust good health at 80. I'm thankful that my own health problems are relatively benign, and that they seem to be under control. I'm thankful that I look forward to the future with joy.

A long long list, but they boil down to being thankful that I'm here and alive. If it were just one thing it would be that before he died my father broke out of his 20 year depression and inability to express his love. He painted a picture of his garden for me.

Although in Mexico we do not have your Thanksgiving celebration, I own a little school where English is taught, and we always have children express their thankfulness for what they are and what they have. Even the little ones (3-5 year old) make drawings showing this. I,personally, am thankful for LIFE, MY LIFE although rough at times. And I'm personally thankful TODAY for the sun... in our country we have had lately one of the strongest crisis and entire towns are floded... So, thanks God for today's sunshine, and may we have it for many days to come.

I am thankful to have daily reminders of inspiration around me when things get so bad I just want to hide somewhere inside myself and never come out. I am so very thankful for the will to keep going, for the people in my life that love me. I am thankful I am able to love, and to show it in positive ways.
I am thankful for the existence of music and chocolate.
