After just one issue of the new ONA, what do you think?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

The first issue of the new Orienteering North America is now on the streets. It is still too soon to really know how the new ONA is going to be. But, after seeing just one new issue, what do you think?

With only a cursory first lookover, I find it interesting that the pictures are in color, but all the maps are black and white.

The creative use of white space seems as if it may have been inspired by Andy Summer's (Police) use of silence around a few sparse notes or musical phrases as a way to highlight the root notes of the melody for the listener.

I also like the way the photo on page 11 was cleverly retouched to make it appear as if Sandra and Boris gained about 50 and 57 pounds, repsectively.

Two photos of the Dennis Rodman of OK! - Mook (in color) ahead of Team Canada and on parade. . .Can it get any better than this?

I have not yet read any of the new ONA, but I have flipped through the pages. My first reaction was -- what is up with the strange font for headings?

Now that there have been quite a few more than a single issue of the "new" ONA, what do people think now?
