yes, I like it and I think I'll use it. That's better than any other nickname I've had before :)

Or you could shorten it and just be CollGirl... wait, that doesn't sound quite right. ;) (sorry, but I thought of that last night and just giggled myself silly. I am so lame sometimes.)

Yes, I did some serious laughing too.

What funny nicknames did you guys have? I got called collwood (all one word), midge, coll, brown ball, woodward and bernstien, and the infamous nickname was ballpeen.

I didn't even think to mention that my mother used to call me Suzy. I'm really not sure where she got it from, as my middle name is Denise.

But everyone in my family had bizarre nicknames. In what other family do your cousins call your father Uncle Betty?

Oh, yes, I went and looked at that when you mentioned it. I was duly impressed.

The only impressive person I know is a guy I went to high school with that is an Olympic Swimmer and won some big championship in Australia last year.

I don't mind if you guys call me CollGirl or ColleenGirl or CurlyGirl or any other silly name, as I know you guys mean it in fun.

I sometimes refer to myself as Wonder Woman because I get so many things done in a short period of time.

Okay, it took me a minute to get the Collgirl joke, but once I did, I was sitting in my cubicle giggling like a loon! : )

Nicknames growing up:

I was Lizard, of course, as I'm sure LizKate has been called from time to time! Also Lizzie Lou (my mother still calls me that regularly), Liz-Bean, Lizzie-Babes, Liz-Beth, and Lizzifer.

My best friend in all the world and I call each other Eunice. We were 12 or so and watched a show about Eunice K. Shriver, and we just howled at that name. Ever since then, that's all we call each other.

Oh, yes, I got the Lizard A LOT when I was growing up. And Liz-a- bean (which I never quite understood where that came from) and Lizzie Borden or just Lizzie B. for short. People tried to call me Corky for a while (b/c my last name is Corcoran) but it never stuck, thank God!

Most of my other nicknames came from drama and the plays I worked on -- Nancy from Play it Again Sam, Kate from Brighton Beach Memoirs, for some reason people called me Alan when I assistant directed Come Blow Your Horn -- I think it was because the guy who played Alan could never remember his lines and kept getting banished from the stage to learn them and I used to have to stand in for him all the time. I could have played his part!

In college, I was in a movie that one of my professors wrote and produced. I played this girl Angela and Lee (Teddy) played my brother Tony. So we've always been Tony and Angela or just "brother" and "sister" for as long as I can remember.

My ex-roommate, John, used to make up insane names for us. In high school I was The Queen of English. When we lived together, he started calling me Mary out of the blue. And once, after I fell down some stairs, he called me Gummy Woman for months. He was rather strange.

My family doesn't really have nicknames for each other. The only ones I remember are my mom's father calling me "nooks" and my father's father calling me chicken licken. And my sister and brother when they were little used to call me Sissy Beth.

God, maybe I did have a lot of nicknames b/c now I am remembering more. My friends in high school called me Robin Hood, Duckie (after Jon Cryer in Pretty in Pink) and Mike (b/c Mike Nesmith was my favorite Monkee).

Oh, and my sister has always called me Wally and I call her the Beav. My brother wanted to get in on the act but since the Cleavers only had two sons, we told him that we'd call him Ugly. And we did. We were mean! ;)

Hey... I forgot that "Eunice" has a website! Her real name is Cathy. I think I've mentioned her in the journal before, she plays the accordion. She won the national championship this July and is competing in the worlds in Germany in November.

Anyway, if you want to see her, her site's here: http://www.accordions.com/csommers/

The cats are Gatsby and Thumper, by the way! :)
