I LOVE it! I think we have pretty similar hair and I've been considering doing SOMETHING with mine. It's just long and boring and straight now, and I'm forever trying to get the frizzes out.

Oh, I've got a bathroom full of hair products!

Now that I have curly hair I'm using shampoo and conditioner for permed hair and then I'm using Friz Ease (I have no fucking idea how to spell that) mousse and then some hair spray when I'm done.

I think the hair spray is some sort of clarol prodcut, but I use a lot of Aussie stuff too. I like their spray gel as well as their scrunch spray.

And I wish I could pull of short hair too. This is as short as I can let my hair get or I think I look like a complete DORK. My sister looks snazzy and cute with short hair too, as does my best friend Nan, but I just felt like a DORK the last time I did it.

In fact the last time I did it I was a sophomore in high school!

Elizabeth -- Is your hair curly? I've been using Frizz Ease for about a week and I really like it. I'd mostly been using spray gel up till now, but I like the mousse. And I've always really liked the Aussie stuff.

My hair is really thick too. I have to do some work to style it, but I prefer it to thin hair. And if I could have naturally curly hair I would be in heaven.

And who else is finding more grey hairs than they're comfortable with?

I've been finding gray hairs for over three years now. Found the first one when I was 25, complained to my mother about it and she informed me that she was finding them when she was 22.

Since I have very dark brown hair it's very easy to see the gray ones. They stick out very noticibly. And I pull them out too! I don't believe that crap people say that 7 more will grow back.

The last time at my hairdressers, she noticed them and started talking to me about dyes. I think I'm going to go with red highlights the next time I see her.

My mom is in her mid-fifties and says she has very little of her natural color left. That's what I have to look forward to!

Does anyone have any good hair products to recommend? I'm looking for a really good mousse. Or am I the only one who uses hair products. I am, aren't.

My hair looks appalling permed. It looks appalling long. I am so jealous of all of you with this hair that looks good long. SO JEALOUS. Every time I see Liz in her pigtails i turn privately green!!

I know. Kymm told me she loved my hair on Saturday. I hate my hair right now. I think it looks like total crap and keeps waving weirdly, and when she said it, my first thought was that she was crazy. When did my self image become so totally crappy?

Well, Mel B (or shall we call you Journal Spice?!), I do use hair products occassionally, but they're mostly straighteners and glossing gels.

...So basically, I'm saying that while you are not alone in your use of hair products, you may be alone in your use of mousse! ;)

Now that I was of no use whatsoever, I'll be leaving....

Aw! You know and I've always been a little jealous that you can carry off short hair so well, Melissa! I've been wavering between keeping my hair long and cutting it short for months and I keep chickening out because I'm afraid that I'll look dorky with short hair. And every time this happens, I always end up saying, "If only I knew my hair would look as fabulous as Melissa's, then I'd cut it short in a minute!"

Mel: I think our hair is different textures, but my favorite mousse in all the world is John Freda's Quick Coif. It's the only one that doesn't turn my hair (and hands) all sticky.

I myself have been having some luck with the frizzes using Frizz-Ease, but Aussie has worked well for me in the past also. The 3-minute miracle stuff really is miraculous!

Colleengirl: My hair is straight, but I get the frizzy halo thing going from hair that is broken. It's really full and thick, so getting it to stay down is the bane of my existence.

GRAY HAIR!!! Just last weekend I made my mother pull three out. The first time I found one, I was Christmas shopping with her and we were in the ladies' room at Dillard's. (Dept store in south & midwest.) Anyway, there I am washing my hands and inspecting myself in the mirror, and BOING!! I see this huge gray hair sticking straight up from the front of my head, about where my bangs start. I was so upset! It was right after my first semester of law school, and they've been here ever since. Argh.
