MediaStudio: Keep Photo Size Video Editor?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi,

I am compiling some photos into a mpg format using the Ulead MediaStudio Video Editor v5.02. I have a few different sizes of photos and when I insert them to the Editor, it resizes them. How do I keep the photos' original size or been resize according to its height & width ratio in the Editor? The mpg generated looks awful after all the photo been resize.

Please advise.

P/S: Is there any better tool that able to compile photos into video/mpg?

OK Albert. Here is is. What you need to do is create a custom moving path. After you drop the image onto one of the video tracks, go to the Production Library icon, click on moving path. Scroll down to the bottom and right click the custom icon. Click "create" and give it a name like "aspect ratio". Now scroll up and click the 2D Basic option, then select the 5th (you can actually select any, but the 5th will be the easiest to adjust)moving path from the left. It is the one where the image is full screen and moves back to the center. Right click on that moving path and then click edit. Clcik "add", scroll down the window to "custom", click the "+" sign, click "aspect ratio", then click "OK". Now close the 2D Basic Moving Path window. Are you still with me? You should now have a copy of that moving path in your custom/aspect ratio selection. Now right click on that selection and click "edit". Here is where the fun starts. On the lower left corner, click the "Keep aspect ratio" box. Note the Width and Height numbers and write these down (i.e. 320 x 240). There are two keyframe diamonds on the timeline. The left one should be red. Click on the right diamond, then go to the Width box and fill in the number (i.e. 320) from the first keyframe.

Continued from above: Almost done. Click "OK". Now drag that custom "aspect ratio" onto your image clip. Left click your image and hit "Ctl + M". The 2D Basic Moving Path window will appear. Click on the "Keep Aspect ratio" box and click "OK". That's all there is to it. The key here was to creat a moving path that didn't really move. You can now use this on any image you bring in. Have fun.
