Have a good day..LINK

I am calling it "Pollyanna Prose", and it will include, but not be limited to the following:

Stupid Y2K statements made by pollyannas

Pollyanna hypocrisy

Language techniques used by "Professional" Pollyannas to convince you not to prepare

Humorous (inadvertently, of course) writings/musings of Pollyannas

Arrogant and/or condescending Pollyanna statements (I have a bigger brain than you, so just shut up and listen)

Good Job Dude!

A must-read. Thanks.

Cory Hamasaki has met and talked to Bradley Sherman at least once. Cory writes that Sherman's perspective is extrapolated from his work -- Sherman does scientific computing, where dates play a noncritical role. Sherman has no experience with business systems, and fails to grasp how important (and hosed) they are to our everyday lives.

This is Cory's impression, of course. But importantly, Cory Hamasaki sees neither any indication nor any reason why Sherman would be part of any implicit conspiracy, much less a paid shill. Indeed, Cory has said that Sherman makes some very good points, and their debates tend to be both civil and focused on real code issues. They take each other seriously.

If y2k dave were of the same persuasion as Sherman, he would have even more of a field day finding sales techniques and disinformation among the doomers. Extremists at both ends use similar techniques. At least Sherman tends to be more civil.

Yes, I believe in insurance, belt and suspenders. Why not? You make it sound like anyone who carries fire insurance is hypocritical if they live in their house *knowing* it will burn down.

Don't you ever tire of making the same insinuations and getting the same correction? Oh well, we'll keep doing this until you learn, I guess.

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), October 05, 1999.

Yes and I'll keep pointing out that if the doomers are wrong, one winds up with some extra food and supplies. If the pollies are wrong, one may end up dead. Touche.

Flint, save your intellectual energies for those who can comprehend. The extreme doomers on this forum will not stand for anything less than Armageddon come the rollover. How dare life go on as usual!!! Look for a list of self-inflicted wounds come the first of the year. Better yet, save yourself the extended grief and do it now. If misery loves company than this forum must be the center of the universe. Folks, its OK for life to be goodtry it you might like it!

I would like to know if any pollyannas on this forum own any lakefront property in the Austin, Texas area.

Observe a most peculiar subspecies: "The red-faced screaming expert bird" Extensive field work done studying it and its habitat, a jungle where cries of cpr and moron are heard morning and night. (Screaming expert appears in bold)

: I have done all that i can to prepare for whatever may be around the corner. I have read several thousand articles. i have visited uncounted hordes of sites and listened to the ranting and ravings for both sides. For good or bad, for me, y2k is over. : Nothing you, I, or the fence post will do from this time on will make much of a difference in the "big picture". Everyone has their own set of "facts". Nothing any of us say or do will REALLY change anyone's mind. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Everything you write is NOTHING........but a "rationalization" of your own pre-conceived notions about life. You have such a mind set because you lack the formal education to over come that.

Thats why you make a complete asxhole of yourself here and on Gary North is a Big Fat Idiot.

People like you make Ralph Kramden look educated. You are the type that thinks a C or a 75 in H.S. is "good enough because I passed".

Now you learn the lesson that nothing less than A can get you ahead. You WALLOW in your IGNORANCE and then pretend to yourself (while trying to BS others) that you know the "real score".

The fact of life for you is simple: not only don't you know the "real score" nor how the game is played, your lack of education prevents you from even being in the FREAKING BALL PARK.

Don't feel bad. Millions more in America suffer from the same disease.

And as TV sets and all electronic equipment get more and more reliable, you can enjoy watching your "career" go the way of BUGGY WHIPS.

Hey Mata...

Quite the salty one today eh? Taking it rather personally and to the heart huh? I notice the overwhelming number of pollies NEED to vent in personal attacks when questioned on the foolishness in the attempts to debunk this issue. Just remember this pollyannas. IF nothing happens, you can *smugly* point and laugh at us doomers. but remember, the opposite side of the coin is the IF it really is *breakdown point*, then those who 'spread the word' NOT to prepare will be the first ones to be publically drawn-and-quartered. LITERALLY. Remember, if it does melt down, and millions die for not having prepared, they won't hold US responsible...It'll be people like you and Flint that they blame.

Lookit what happened to Goerbbels...

-- Billy-Boy (Rakkasn@Yahoo.com), October 05, 1999.

Gerbils? You mean those cute non-screaming mammals who understand the value of remaining silent lest they remove all doubt of their arrested development?

-- Mataherring (grandma@fed.upp), October 05, 1999.

never a straight answer from a polly...

why even try?

-- Billy-Boy (Rakkasn@Yahoo.com), October 05, 1999.

Sounds like your confusing me with those I am studying. I am but a humble anthropologist, not a member of the species I observe.
