Why are Sony products conspicuous by their absence from your reviews?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Hello,

Just wondering why Sony's line of digicams have not been included in your reviews? It isn't like they don't have any popular products! Would love to see the D700/770, FP3 and others covered along with Olympus, Canon, Fuji, Epson, etc. As an owner of a Sony DKC-ID1, D700, D770, Epson PhotoPC and an Olympus C200Z, I think they are competitive and deserve inclusion in you excellent reviews.

unfortunately sony doesn't seem to agree, so far they've refused to give any review cams to these guys. What snobs! The problem is sony not here. :) I think one of the owners has a D770?

Yes, Benoit said it - Sony's been particulary standoffish. (As has Epson.) Also as Benoit pointed out, it's not because we don't like Sony digicams, either - Mike (the news editor) owns one. We'd probably have reviewed that one, but he lives in Iowa, I'm in Georgia, and I wouldn't want to be the one trying to pry that beauty out of his hands. ;) We've been working on Sony for a LONG time, but I'm hopeful we've been making slow progress. At least one guy is in favor of getting us the D770 and '505, he has to get approval from somebody else though. Keep your fingers
