I am planned to buy the Canon XL1 I poses an PII 333 64MB Can I edit on it? What do I need? Can I convert the editing in normal video mode so I can register miniDV on a normal videotape. What's the best and the cheapest solution.

The lowest cost solution is to purchase a firewire based editing product. I can give you pricing and comparisons on many of these if you email me directly. You will also need At least 128 Meg of RAM and probably will want 256 Meg. For about $500, I can get you good name brand firewire cards with Adobe Premiere (full version Not LE)
