Self-Reporting-- may save us all?

The technical challenge of y2k can be understood.

Its a big problem for everyone -with a limited time frame!

It is the aspect of self-reporting that excites me. We should all realize that if all of the entities that are self-reporting their READINESS are accurate and if this all goes off without a hitch. Then just think of how many agencies we can dispose of.--this would mean no more need for any agency that was created to monitor the (up until y2k remediation) tendency of people and business and government to be less than honorable in all their dealings.

How exciting--- no irs, fbi, cia, ftc, fcc, sec, bbb, fda, did I miss any!!

"Yes grandson-I was there the year human nature turned over a new leaf---it was called y2k remediation, everyone was so honest and forthcoming with information, it was a wonderful experience. And it happened at a time when most people thought all virtues had been lost."

Gary North put it well today in one of his commentaries:

"Every gun should be considered loaded until checked. The same goes for computerized systems. A system is y2k-guilty until proven innocent. Self-reported assurances are not valid evidence."
