Can a slave flash unit be used with a Kodak DC210?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have a Koday DC210 which I am generally happy with. However the flash is verylimited. I have seen flash slave units which are triggered by a camera flash. I am wondering if such a setup would provide the added flash power I need.

I have used what is called a peanut flash slave with my Sony Mavica. It's sad there isn't a flash sync on the camera, but this works fine for me.
I would recommend you go to a camera store in your area - most good stores will carry the peanut slaves. Unless they're ogres they will be happy to let you try it out.
Since it is a digital camera you can tell instantly if there is a problem.
The peanut slaves come with different types of connections (the PC- sync connector being the most common).
Good luck.

Dan,

Do you know if this "peanut slave" will work with a Nikon CP 900?

Thanks!
