Most of us are asking similar questions that others have already asked. Some replies obviously show the frustrations of that.

For example, I have finally found on this site someone else who reported that a vcd stopping part way into the track. He did not get a reply!

This begs the question - Are we missing some search facility here that would make it easier to get answers before we ask? Other discussion sites I work have a search mechanism for archive material why not this site?

There is another bullitinboard system thats freeware called discus. Its more complex then this system, and perhaps what we need?

This site is running from a free public database-backed service run by Philip Greenspun. Unfortunately, the server (greenspun.com) doesn't appear to support a search facility.

I've now hooked up a second free service, a search engine called whatUseek, to the forum. It should now be possible to search the forum (either from the "About" page or when you're about to post a new question). Hopefully that'll make it easier to find information in the forum, which is getting rather large!
