Home Depot in Greensboro, NC had more than 100 (by count) Generac 5500 (rated) watt 6750 (max)watt generators IN STOCK. Price $1099.00 (if my memory still serves me).

Lots of other items also. Colman propane stoves and lanterns, propane, battery operated lanterns, gasoline and kerosene containers, and lots of flashlights and batteries. No kerosene heaters yet.

Sports Authority, which is next door, has a prominient sign just inside the entrance listing "Huricane Supplies". At the bottom of the sign it reads: Stock Up Now Before It's Too Late

That generator price is $400 too high, and those units are LOW quality.

Sam's and B.J.'s have Coleman gasoline generators in that power range for $799 or less, at least here in central Mass. I was wondering myself about the availability of propane generators and refigerators. Is anybody familiar with these items?
