how to convert many tiffs to jpegs?

Does anyone know how I can convert my many tiff digital pics to jpg for web. I have a macintosh 8.1 and am looking for an inexpensive program that will do this.

Thank You,

Ton

I've been told that it can be done with the full version of Photoshop 5. I haven't yet figured out how to do it, but the method (I was told) was that you could define a directory (or "folder") for MAC people with specific attributes. You can then select a group of files and then drag/drop them into the directory/folder and the program would then apply the attributes to those files. The attributes could include automatic file conversion (TIFF to JPEG) as well as the "auto-level" command.

This is important to me because I have nearly 700 photos that are very underexposed and need to be corrected, either with auto-level or by specifying a 20% increase in brightness and 35% increase in contrast - and possibly applying the "remove dust/scratches" option as well.

How about using GraphicConverter for the Mac. An excellent program for batch conversions (look under "Convert More")

For the past year I've used Adobe ImageReady to do this. You can take batches of photographs and assign a set of commands to modify or change the images. In my case I'm taking 600 x 400 Tiff images, resizing, adding a watermark and then saving as an optimized JPEG file for my web site. There seems to be a limit of 20 images at a time but I'm not sure whether this is a maximun pixel count or file size that can be handled. Very easy, just drag and drop. The latest version of ImageReady is bundled with Photoshop 5.5, don't know if the old version is still available anywhere as a stand alone application. Highly recommended, has saved me dozens of hours. Feel free to e-mail if you require more info.

Hi Ton

Came accross this site with a great Digital Image Processing Software It also allows web page thumbnails to be created very easy. All for $12.00 the only problem is that its a PC prog. If you have access to a PC it might be a quick answer
