I am considering purchasing the Canoscan FS2710. Can anyone tell me how it compares to the Nikon Coolscan 2000?

Here in New Zealand the Canoscan is $1000 cheaper than the Nikon but with very similar specifications.

I have the CanoScan 2700F and am considering an upgrade to the Nikon scanner. I believe that the batch scanning capability alone is worth the price difference.
