I've had pretty good luck posting digital images on Ebay. (A) I try to take the photo at the highest resolution of my camera. This may give you a large file but it will capture a lot of detail in your object and that's the important thing. (B) Transfer the photo to your hard drive and put it in an `originals-only' folder. (C) Open up your image editor(I happen to use Adobe PhotoShop...I'm sure others do as well) and open the image. At this point, do whatever editing you want to do. Sharpen, adjust contrast and brightness, etc. (D) When you are happy with the image, it's time to get it `web' ready. At this point Trim the image(include only the important stuff), Resize to somthing no larger than 4" by 6" and then reduce the resolution to 72dpi. (E) Save the image as a .jpg (JPEG) file. Use a medium compression, about a 4 or 5 level, and select a 3-scan progressive option. The file should be about 50K - 100K. Anything bigger and the impatient bidders will hit the Back button. (F) You then have to ftp the image over to your ISP storage space and make sure you know it's link. I try to use short file names and use only all lower-case or all upper-case characters as the links are case-sensitive. Hope this helps.
